The Primary Organization of Vladivostok of the Seafarers' Union of Russia continues the campaign on creation libraries of the companies of Maritime State University named after admiral G.I. Nevelskoy.
This time, the books were given to the cadets from the 12th company. They chose the books to their liking and took the publications to their quarters. Petr Osichansky, the Chairman of the Primary Organization of Vladivostok of the Seafarers' Union of Russia, emphasized that the Union will undoubtedly sustain this initiative until each company has its own small library.
Recall that this tradition started in this February, when the 11th company of Maritime State University named after admiral G.I. Nevelskoy got the books from the Union.
The objective of this initiative is to encourage reading among young people.
SUR notes that maritime workers need to read a lot, as it broadens their horizons, boosts literacy, improves memory, raises attention spans - all of this is necessary for seafarers in their work.
