The trade union and the Prosecutor's Office have agreed on cooperation

The Kaliningrad Territorial Organization of the Seafarers’ Union of Russia (KTO SUR) and the Kaliningrad Transport Prosecutor's Office signed an agreement on cooperation in the protection of the legal rights and interests of crew members of ocean vessels. The document was signed by KTO SUR Chair Lyudmila Izmalkova and Kaliningrad Transport Prosecutor Victoria Zavarzina.

Izmalkova noted that the agreement will mark the beginning of new interaction between the department and the trade union and will increase the level of protection of seafarers' rights to a safe workplace and fair wages. The document is valid until 2027.

This is the first such agreement in our region. We believe it will allow for more effective protection of the constitutional rights of seafarers to safe work, as well as revealing, eliminating and preventing of violations, and will increase the awareness of crew members on implementing and protecting of their rights, - she added.
