There is a business-like environment and no complaints on board the vessel, covered by SUR collective agreement

Representatives of the Seafarers' Union of Russia (SUR) continue to visit vessels calling at Russian ports. In particular, Inspectors of the Far Eastern Territorial Organization of the Seafarers’ Union of Russia have visited MV Diana (Russian flag, IMO 9358058, Baltic Shipping Company).

The vessel is moored at the berth of the Nakhodka Sea Commercial Port, it will head for the Indian port of Paradip after loading ammonium nitrate in bags. The crew of MV Diana includes 17 Russian seafarers. All of them are members of the Seafarers' Union of Russia.

According to Nikolay Sukhanov, Chairman of the Far Eastern Territorial Organization of the Seafarers’ Union of Russia, the vessel is covered by a collective agreement of the Seafarers' Union of Russia. Besides, there are available on board Ingosstrakh insurance certificates, as required by the Maritime Labour Convention-2006. All seafarers have individual contracts, wages are paid regularly, crew members are provided with safety clothing and footwear. In addition, there is a gym machine on board, provided by the SUR Primary Organization of St. Petersburg as part of the welfare and fitness support program for seafarers.

During their visit on board, the Inspectors told the crew about the activities of the trade union, including the fact that SUR became one of the signatories of the Federal Industry Agreement on Maritime Transport for 2024-2027. This document sets the minimum level of wages, of social guarantees, compensations and benefits and applies to all seafarers in labour relations with employers - members of the Russian Chamber of Shipping, as well as employers who join the agreement after its conclusion.

- Before leaving, we invited the crew members when they are off duty to visit the International Marine Club to take a break from the daily work routine. The Inspectors gave the seafarers fresh magazines "Maritime Unions Herald" and books telling about the activities of SUR, and FETO SUR calendars.
