Familiarization of future navigators with MLC,2006
In the beginning of June, the Admiral Makarov State Maritime University of Maritime and Inland Shipping hosted a round table - a practice-oriented lesson for third-year cadets of the faculty "Navigation". The topic of the meeting — “Implementation of the Maritime Labor Convention 2006 in the Russian Federation” — is quite relevant: the cadets learned about practical aspects of international requirements when inspecting vessels for compliance with labor standards in the activities of shipping companies and the implementation of the Maritime Labor Convention in Russia.
The round table was attended by Doctor of Economics Sciences, Professor, Vice Principal for Development of the Educational Complex and Interaction with Educational and Methodological Associations Elena Lavrentieva, Head of Personnel Management of OOO SCF Arctica Alan Tatarov, Head of the MLC Implementation Group of the Department for Coordination of the Maritime Safety Management System of OOO " Gazprom Flot" Pavel Zemlyansky and Advisor to the Chairman of the Seafarers' Union of Russia Vladimir Zubkov.
The cadets learned about the process of MLC requirements' practical implementation, and also received answers to their questions about the possibility of undergoing on board training and further employment in shipping companies.
