SUR members have no complaints

Representatives of the Seafarers' Union of Russia continue visiting vessels at Russian ports. Recently, the Technical Labor Inspector of the SUR Black and Azov Seas Territorial Organization Evgeny Bangert has visited bulk carrier Yashma (IMO 9555357, Russian flag) of the Volga Shipping Company, which called at the port of Novorossiysk. 

“Whenever possible, we try to get on board those vessels where our union members work,” - he said.

The crew includes 11 Russian seafarers from different cities of the country, all of them are the SUR members.

“The crew is satisfied with the working conditions: in particular, there are no any troubles regarding receiving wages or repatriation,” Evgeny Bangert added.

It should be noted that m/v Yashma is covered by the collective agreement of the Seafarers' Union of Russia, and the Volga Shipping Company and SUR have been social partners since 2021. In Nizhny Novgorod there is the SUR primary organization of the shipping company.
