SUR gave gym equipment to a container ship "Kapitan Abonosimov"

The SUR Primary Organization of Far Eastern Shipping Company keeps assisting to support healthy lifestyle among crew members. Today, the FESCO container ship “Kapitan Abonosimov” makes its first call at the port of St. Petersburg. In order to support the physical health of the crew, the SUR Primary Organization of Far Eastern Shipping Company purchased a Torneo Magik T-400BL treadmill. Seafarers will receive this gym machine free of charge.

Thus, the trade union keeps implementing a social program aimed to renew and replenish equipment of ship's gyms, to upgrade telecommunications equipment for high-quality reception of television programs and a Wi-Fi signal, as well as to improve rest facilities on board.

According to the Chairman of the SUR Primary Organization of Far Eastern Shipping Company, Valery Berezinsky, they will further assist their members to keep themselves fit during voyages and to improve rest facilities on board. Foremost, SUR always pays heed to the needs of seafarers.

As for the vessel, FESCO Transport Group received this new container hip at the end of 2023. The container ship was named in honor of the sea captain and polar explorer Vadim Ivanovich Abonosimov, who, by the way, headed the SUR Primary Organization of "his native" Far Eastern Shipping Company from 1989 to 2001.
