Summing up the results of the past year, Samara Territorial Organization of Seafarers' Union of Russia noted that the number of SUR members has not changed in 2023: the total membership of Samara Territorial Organization is still 448. But the organization actively works to attract seafarers and river transport workers into the ranks of SUR. In particular, the representatives of Samara Territorial Organization of Seafarers' Union of Russia disseminate information about the activities of Seafarers' Union of Russia during meetings with employees of the Samara River Port, while visiting shipping companies and water transport agencies.
During the year, Union members applied the Samara Territorial Organization on different matters, for example, seafarers inquired about the reliability of employers, and there were complaints about delayed wages. All disputes were addressed on the operating level. Samara Territorial Organization provided its members financial aid and distributed magazines "Maritime Unions Herald" magazines among seafarers and river transport workers.
Also, the Union members' children were given New Year's gifts. The collective agreement between the Organization and the administration of Samara River Passenger Enterprise remains in force till March 12, 2024, which, when signed, included clauses that improve the working conditions of workers. And, according to the Chairman of STO SUR Sergey Savostin, the trade union looks forward to fruitful cooperation with this reliable social partner of SUR.
