Navigator Alexey Arsenov does not regret his choice of profession

A SUR member, navigation officer Alexey Arsenov has visited the office of the Baltic Territorial Organization of the Seafarers' Union. Recently he has signed off from the m/v Baltic Performer, which is managed by OWH Shipmanagement GmbH.

He praised the company. According to him, one of the advantages is the timely crew changes in St.Petersburg, which is convenient for him, since there are always trains to Bryansk, where the seafarer lives. Alexey Arsenov also notes very friendly crews consisting of Russian seafarers and decent working conditions, including salary, on board the OWH-managed vessels.

He does not regret his choice of profession. Since Alexey Arsenov has been in the Maritime Fleet for several years, during this time he has seen everything: once he witnessed the rescue of a wild animal.

So, while staying in a foreign port, a deer with huge antlers appeared on the pier.

- There was a turmoil in the port,- the seafarer recalls. - The deer was really scared and jumped into the water, swam a little, but couldn’t get out - while it was climbing onto the pier, it was exhausted. It ended with specialists arriving and rescued the weakened animal.
