The tour of the social partner's vessel

Kaliningrad Territorial Organization of the Seafarers’ Union of Russia (KTO SUR) arranged a tour of the RV "Akademik Sergey Vavilov", which is part of the Atlantic Fleet base of the Shirshov Institute of Oceanology of RAS, for second-year cadets of Navigation Faculty of the Kaliningrad Marine Fishing Fleet College – the future seafarers climbed the ladder of an operating vessel for the first time.

According to KTO SUR Chairman Lyudmila Izmalkova, the most experienced crew members familiarized the cadets with the vessel: the Chief Officer Vladimir Titov showed the navigation bridge, the Chief Engineer Valery Yurchenko told about the main engine and the work of marine engineers, and the Electrician Alexander Pyatkov shared his knowledge at the Engine Control Room.

- The cadets liked the tour very much, - Izmalkova added. – It’s great when you have the opportunity to visit the vessel and talk to the crew.

It should be noted, that all vessels of the Atlantic Fleet base of the Shirshov Institute of Oceanology of RAS are covered by the Seafarers' Union of Russia collective agreements.
