Representatives of the Kaliningrad Territorial Organization of SUR have convinced themselves in it during their visit on board of the m/v WL LADOGA (IMO 9659799, flag of Hong Kong), which arrived from Brazil the other day.
- The ship has arrived at the “Sodruzhestvo SOYA” terminal, part of the crew is scheduled to be replaced here, and four of them will be our seafarers from Kaliningrad, then WL LADOGA will head to Belgium, - Lyudmila Izmalkova, KTO SUR Chairman said. - The crew on such ship consists of 20 seafarers from all over our country, from Murmansk to Novorossiysk. It's nice to see that they recruit young seafarers, thus giving them opportunity to gain experience, and cadets: both navigators and engineers. And it is also worth rejoicing that seafarers, working under a foreign flag, do not spend money on commissions and bank services, since the shipowner has a salary project. It was also nice to find out that the ship not only has a collective agreement on board, but also most of the crew are members of Seafarers' Union of Russia.
- Before leaving the vessel, we gave the crew gifts and souvenirs: "Maritime Unions Herald" journals and T-shirts,- Lyudmila Izmalkova said.
It should be noted that WL LADOGA is operated under the SUR collective agreement: as it was in 2019, when the Inspectors of the KTO SUR visited the ship during its call to the port of Kaliningrad, so it is the same case now. By the way, in 2019 there were two cadets on board the m/v WL LADOGA either.
