Crew members of m/v "Soya" have returned home

Today the Chief Officer  and the Captain arrived in Kerch by night train.

According to Alexander Rubtsov, a Labor Inspector of Seafarers' Union of Russia,  the released seafarers  arrived in Moscow on the 25th of February, went through all the necessary formalities and then came back home.

They were never charged. Predictably, the seafarers  turned out to be hostages  of internal disputes between the shipper and the consignee, as Alexander Rubtsov explained.

M/v "Soya" (IMO 8421731, the flag of the Comoros), operated by Turkey-based  Marine Inspektor Ltd, arrived to Egypt from Turkish port Ambarli.  On November 4, the crew was arrested  as  28 tons of the medical drug "Tramadol" were found inside   three offloaded containers. This drug is banned in Egypt and is considered as a drug.
