Two first-year cadets, who had just entered the navigation faculty, applied to join the Seafarers' Union of Russia in the very first month of study. This is a unique case: even before entering the University the guys themselves learned that there was a SUR organization in the university and decided to become part of the trade union before being initiated into cadets.
-We met the desire of future seafarers, handed them the trade union badges and the latest issues of the “Maritime Unions Herald, - Nikita Vitvitsky, the navigation faculty cadet and the chairman of the SUR university's organization said.
It should be noted that work with students of maritime training institutions has always been a priority for the Seafarers' Union of Russia. It's very important for everyone, and for young specialists especially, to know your rights and ways to safeguard them. This this is an indicator of competence and an opportunity to achieve greater confidence in your future. Seafarers, by the character of their occupation, will deal with foreign employers from all over the world, so, they need to know how to act and where to turn to in any difficult situation.
