Veteran seafarers won the Regional Sports Contest

Sportsmen  from the trade union sports complex "YUGMOR" competed in athletics, shooting, swimming, chess. The veteran seafarers  from Novorossiysk have taken prizes in almost all tournaments. According to total points the "YUGMOR" team won the first place among 26 other teams from different parts of the Krasnodar region. The  Regional Sports Contest  was held with the support of the Southern Territorial Organization of the Seafarers' Union of Russia.

- We exercised almost daily,” Igor Vasilyevich Kartashov said. – In the trade union's gym there are all conditions to keep fit. This is important at any age and after retirement also. Besides, it's an excellent  way to socialize.

The city tournaments  in swimming, bowling, darts, billiards, chess and checkers were organized by the Novorossiysk Department of physical culture and sports. “When  the municipal authorities invited us to participate, of course, we consented with pleasure,” Igor Vasilyevich noted. “According to the results our team could get to the regional competitions, where we managed to bypass the rivals.”

The municipal authorities appreciate the contribution of the Association of maritime trade unions "YUGMOR" in the development of physical culture and mass sports:   its Chairman Nikolai Popov is awarded a diploma every year.

We recall that a free use of  the gym complex "YUGMOR" is included in the service program for members of the  Seafarers' Union of Russia, as well as their wives and children. In addition, other projects have been developed for seafarers  and veterans.
