On board the vessels Tower Bridge and Nostras the crew has no complaints

This was told by the technical inspector of labor of the Black Sea-Azov Territorial Organization of the Seafarers Union of Russia EvgeniyBangert who visited the ships in the port of Novorossiysk. The tanker Nostras (IMO 9254422, the flag of Russia, built in 2002) belongs to the Rostov company NOVOGRAIN LTD. The crew consists of 16 Russian seafarers. Although the vessel is not covered by ITF agreement, the crew welcomed the SUR inspector on board and he told them about the work of the union. The technical condition of the tanker was also satisfactory.«Seafarers generally rarely complain about something on board that kind of vessels, only if the situation takes on a very critical scale. They recognize the value of their work and are afraid to lose their place since it’s not so easy to find a job,» said EvgeniyBangert.

The product tanker Tower Bridge (IMO 9292034, Liberia flag, built in 2004) is owned by Sovcomflot and is covered by the collective bargaining agreement of the Seafarers Union of Russia. The crew consistsof 27 Russian seafarers employed through the company’s office in Novorossiysk.«We talked with crewmembers about the working conditions and it became clear that they are happy with everything. They are well aware of the work of the SUR as they are members of the union. Before leaving we delivered trade union press to the crew.»
