The m/v DPL Alyur is not yet covered by the collective agreement, but perhaps it will appear soon
The
shipping company Northwest Ship Management Ltd from Vladivostok paid off a debt
of more than 3 million rubles to the Russian seafarers from the m/vDPL Alyur. It is reported by the Primorsky
Transport Prosecutor's Office.
In September 2019 the crew applied for the
department with a collective complaint about non-payment of wages. During the
investigation the prosecutor sent a request to the harbourmasters of the
controlled seaports to immediately provide information on the company’svesselscalls at Russian ports. As soon as the
m/v DPL Alyur moored in Vladivostokthe transport prosecutor sent 14 claims of crewmembers to the court to
recover wage arrears from the shipowner. The employer without waiting for a court
decision paid the crewmembers the full debt. Otherwise the court could impose
serious restrictions including detention or arrest on the m/v DPL Alyur.
Northwest Ship Management Ltd is well known in the Seafarers Union of Russia.
Earlier, the issue of signing a collective agreement was discussed with the
representative of the employer, but the topic is still open.
As per the
chairman of the SURprimary trade union organization of seafarersof the city of Vladivostok , inspector of theITF, Peter Osichanskiy, it is likely that in
the near future the company and the trade union committee will return to a
working dialogue.
