SUR is engaged in expanding a social partnership

The crew of m/v "Prisco Alfa" wouldn't  have to worry about their labor and social rights: yesterday, March 27, in the office of the shipowner –  "Prisco Tankers" (Nakhodka) - there were held negotiations on the company's cooperation with the Seafarers Union of Russia. At the end of the meeting an  ITF Blue Certificate for the vessel “Prisco Alfa” was  presented.

“We began the negotiations with the company in  early  2018. "Prisco Tankers" has already signed a collective agreement with the trade union”, -  Nikolay Sikhanov, the Chairman of the Far Eastern Territorial Organization of the Seafarers' Union of Russia (SUR FETO) said.

“For now, M/V “Prisco Alfa” is the first ship acquired  by the company.  Seafarers' Union of Russia hopes that over time our cooperation will expand, and collective agreements will cover all new vessels of "Prisco Tankers".

SUR experts note that  collective agreement is a guarantee of seafarer's rights observance  in case of their violations by the shipowner. Moreover, from the part of the employers, the desire to conclude a collective  agreement with the union demonstrates the commitment to  responsible attitude  to their obligations to the crew.
