Everybody can come to rescue!

The Seafarers Union of Russia (the SUR) started to collect money for seafarers and their families from the Far East who suffered from the catastrophic flood.

Most people know of that convulsion of nature which became a tragedy for the Far East citizens. During most of the summer and until three weeks ago, towns and villages in the region were overflowed, and virtually no property was saved. Most of people have lost their houses, clothes and harvest. They have nowhere to go except their ruined houses which became moldy and musty meanwhile. Among those who have no roof over their heads there are seafarers and their families.

Fifteen affected seafarers have already applied to the Pacific Regional Organization of the SUR. It is likely that those who need support and assistance are at sea, and that there are much more of them in fact.

Taking into consideration the above, the Pacific Regional Organization has opened a bank account. Everybody can help the victims of the flood by transferring money. Any amount would be welcome! Please quote “Financial aid to seafarers who suffered from the flood in the Russian Far East” in the “Purpose of the payment” block of the transfer order.

We shall give detailed information of receipt of funds to the account of the Pacific Regional Organization and the way they will be spent.
