Yury Sukhorukov has become a member of the Public Council under "Rosmorrechflot"

Yury Sukhorukov, Ñhairman of the Seafarers' Union of Russia (SUR), has become a member of the Public Council  under the Federal Agency for Sea and Inland Water Transport (Rosmorrechflot). The order on approval of the new members was signed by the Head of  Rosmorrechflot Zakhary Dzhioev.

The Public Council had been established in 2008. It was aimed to supervision of  Rosmorrechflot activities, including review of draft regulatory legal acts being developed, participation in monitoring the quality of public services, anti-corruption efforts,  personnel work and other issues stipulated by the legislation of the Russian Federation.

The main task of the Council is to ensure the interaction of citizens and public associations with the Federal Agency for Sea and Inland Water Transport  in order to take into consideration the  needs, interests, protection of  rights and freedoms of Russian citizens in the activities connected with water transport of our country.

The membership of the Council is formed to include the representatives of public associations, trade unions, associations of employers, social groups and other non-governmental  organizations operating within the competence of Rosmorrechflot.

The approved membership of the Public Council under the Federal Agency for Sea and  Inland Water Transport  includes 16 people. Along with Yury Sukhorukov the Council included representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, the "Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs", the Union of Transport Workers of Russia, the All-Russian Industry Association of Employers "Russian Chamber of Shipping", the Association of Commercial Sea Ports, the  Water Transport Workers' Union of  Russian Federation and others.

The term of office of the new membership  is three years from the date of the first meeting, which  took place on October 7, 2022 in Moscow. The participants considered proposals for amending the action  plan for 2022 and  approved the Code of Ethics of the Public Council members. The development of an action plan for 2023 is expected to be completed in the near future.

The Seafarers' Union of Russia has been cooperating with various departments, including Rosmorrechflot, for many years and welcomes the opportunity to work together in the interests of SUR members and protect their labor and social rights.
